Handwriting without Tears Program
WHEN: 6-weeks each Semester
WHERE: to be determined
WHY: To make legible and fluent handwriting an easy and automatic skill for children with special needs. Unique and compelling curriculum design and teaching strategies facilitate this goal. We use multi-sensory techniques and consistent habits for letter formation to teach handwriting to kids pre-K through cursive. It also helps improve a child's self-confidence, pencil grip, body awareness and posture.
WHO: Brought to you by the Down Syndrome Association of Brazos Valley
The class is designed for children with special needs, ages 3 and up, who have difficulty with fine motor skills. Your child will learn at his or her own pace according to his or her own skill set.
Taught by Phyllis Hodges, a local teacher certified in the Handwriting Without Tears method, with one-one-one Aggie volunteers
